Fee Study
The Madison Area Builders Association (MABA), partnered with Vierbicher, to conduct a study of development fees across sixteen Dane County municipalities to better understand the financial factors influencing housing affordability and growth. The analysis compared impact, planning, building, and engineering fees under two standardized development scenarios, allowing for close comparisons between the 16 municipalities. This effort provides builders, policymakers, and community stakeholders with transparent data on fee structures, highlighting notable cost differences across municipalities. The hope of the fee study is to establish a foundation for informed discussions on housing development and affordability in Dane County.
